The present

The Whistler United Methodist Church continues to be an agent of change in the community. In 2009, the recreation building was converted into a dormitory. The dormitory houses college interns who serve as summer missionaries from the 3.0 Mission Program. Various ministries in the Mobile District of the United Methodist Church are served by the students. Grace Summer Day Camp ministers to approximately 75 children, daily, during the summer moths.
During the winter months, the facility is used to provide warm shelter to the ladies from the McKemmie Places Homeless Shelter. The church provides weekend food to needy children through the Bay Area Food Bank Backpack Program and during the summer provides a nutritious meal to the children of the community. In 2010, Whistler United Methodist Church participates in the Good Samaritan Club with Goodwin Easter Seals of the Gulf Coast. This club allows the church to provide assistance to families and individuals in need.
